What a crazy last 1 1/2 weeks!! We just had the wonderful opportunity of spending a whopping 5 night/ 6 days in the luxurious St. Louis Children's Hospital with Ammon. He was having a lot of pain from his last surgery and so the doctor wanted to admit him in order to help relieve the pain and find the problem. Well, after all of those days, they were finally able to get it under control and find the problem. Now, instead of "living" at the hospital as Ammon was thinking, we now have to go there every other day for check-ups.Yes, it was hard, but one thing I learned from it all is that we could be in a worse situation. We could be the parents of that child we saw battling cancer or the infant with the stitches all across his head. Being at a chilren's hospital definitely is an eye opener. I looked around and was always feeling like the lucky one that my child will get through this with patience and faith, but Ammon got to go home and gets to be a normal boy again soon unlike some of the other kids.
On one of the latter days in the hospital, we discovered an amazing garden on the 8th floor. The second we walked out of the doors, we instantly felt like everything was OK. It was such a getaway and Ammon LOVED it. Just before we were going to be discharged, Ammon demanded on us going to the garden, so off we went. As we were there, he had to tell literally everything, "Goodbye!". He bid his farewell to the flowers, the water, the frog & lizard statues, the bridge, etc. Plus, the nurses & doctors loved seeing his sweet, happy face.
