Wow!!! That is all I can say about our 2008. Let's see ....... we sold a home, bought a home, moved across the river, went to Utah for Korina's wedding, watched Haley get on her first bus off to Kindergarten, added a Great Dane to the family and helped Ammon get through 5 surgeries. I think the only other word I can associate with this past year would be DRAMA! I try to avoid drama, but this past year has been nothing but drama. It's really funny when people are wanting to know how our family is doing today just because they know that there will be a story.
There's definitely been many happy times, but also the sad times of leaving our "home". I say it over and over again and I will say it again that if I had to move away, I wouldn't want any other place. We absolutely love it here! I will confess that I actually go to Walmart over here. I wouldn't dare go to the old Walmart on the other side of the river unless I had to go. They're really nice here. Since we've been here, I've had Walmart workers give my kids cookies from the bakery section, deli meat while waiting in the deli section and have even had a worker ask for a recipe for homemade tortillas. (She even wrote it down right away like she was excited. An excited Walmart worker .. now that's a phenomenon!)
We're starting to get to know people here and have loved the opportunities to play volleyball. (Thanks Beck!) With Haley in Kindergarten, it's been a great blessing because it has definitely kept me busy and not to mention the unlimited trips to St. Louis Children's Hospital, but all is well right now and for that we are truly grateful.
I have to write my Thank You's to everyone that checks this blog. For those who've been there for our family and love us. We appreciate your love and support through 2008 and hope for a magical 2009. (We are expected to go on our first Lampe Family Vacation to Disney World, which will be magical in more ways than one.)
We wish all of you a fine 2009!! (Yeah, I know that was cheesy, but I couldn't resist.)
