Veteran's Day Assembly

This morning, I had the privilege of sending off my daughter to school excitedly dressed in her Red, White & Blue. Excited for what the day has in store for her at school! Her school doesn't take off for Veteran's Day, but instead has all of the children invite Veterans to come to school and they honor them in an assembly. For those who couldn't attend, they will be placing certificates of those absent and honor them likewise.

Haley is so proud because she has a retired Veteran (Grandpa Mable, aka/ Grandpa Castillo) and an uncle that is currently active duty in the military (Uncle Josh). She filled out the certificates to be proudly displayed in her school showing her love and support to them.

On the certificate it said the following:
I am proud of this veteran because ____

On her own, she wrote the following:
Uncle Josh's : he helps our family and our country.
Grandpa's: he helps people with things. I am very proud! (she wanted to write "of my Grandpa", but thought she'd run out of room on the lines.)

It makes me so happy to see Haley so excited and proud of the people, including family members, who serve for our country. Thank you to all of those who have served and for those who currently serve. THANK YOU!
